Hey everyone, I’m Hjalmar, the founder and CEO of GRID. As a life-long data enthusiast, I’ve been fascinated with the nature, ubiquity and importance of spreadsheets. When we founded GRID in 2018 on a mission to empower end-users to do more with data and numbers, we recognized that any such journey would have to start with spreadsheets. GRID is a productivity tool that enables spreadsheet users to transform their data and models into interactive, visually dynamic web documents. GRID syncs seamlessly with existing spreadsheets and leverages spreadsheet users' existing skills. With GRID, you can add a narrative to your spreadsheets, decide which parts are shown to your audience and how they can interact with your models. With GRID you shouldn't have to attach a spreadsheet to an email ever again – or switch between different formats like Word, PowerPoint, and PDF when sharing your insights, turning spreadsheets into first-class citizens of the web. We look forward to hearing what you think, answering your questions and listening to your ideas!

Love this product. As a beta user, I had built a calculator that estimates how much employers spend on hiring. With GRID I could share a) key assumptions for user inputs in my model and b) show charts and graphs for results. It would have taken days (or weeks) to build something with similar functionality in a website, (where I would have started with a spreadsheet anyway).

@kristjanfreyr Thanks for your continued support Kristjan, and now your requested embedding feature is fully supported and easily accessible from within the product. On a pro subscription you can even customize the look and feel of the embed :)

Looks great, I love the look of the interactive calculators. Would love to see templates in the future (from people willing to share things like mortgage calculators, insurance calculators etc)
Hjalmar Gislason
@generouswork Thanks Rich. Spot on. Creating a set of templates that people can duplicate, adapt and make their own is high on the priority list. Looking forward to continued feedback, comments and questions.

@hjalli Great to hear as I know quite a few clients who would love to use embedded reports and calculators on their websites. Beautiful product!

It's always been a love/hate relationship for me with spreadsheets - this is a total game changer for people who love data but lack the technical foundation to develop beautiful frontends. Congrats on the launch!
Hjalmar Gislason
@keremakaynak Thanks for your kind words Kerem. Couldn't agree more. If you want to read up more on that love/hate relationship, check out these twin posts on our Medium: * https://medium.com/grid-spreadsh... * https://medium.com/grid-spreadsh...

I used it for sharing and tweaking the business model with the team. Instantly useful. Congratulations on the launch! You set a high standard for us all.

@sven_stone Thanks Sveinn. I think "instantly useful" pretty much sums up our aspirations for GRID.

Great tool to share and visualize the data you are working on. I've used Grid to create cost calculators for SAAS tools and share growth estimations with investors.

@einargustafsson Thanks Einar!

I'm very excited to see GRID launch. I've been a beta user for a while, and I can attest it's a very powerful tool for creating dynamic front-ends for your spreadsheets. I think there must be millions of huge, gnarly Excel sheets used to run businesses, and now finally they can be made accessible as web apps to non-expert users.
Hjalmar Gislason
@joisig Thanks Jói, appreciate your continued support!
