Google Allo is a smart messaging app that helps you say more and do more. Express yourself better with stickers, doodles, and HUGE emojis & text. Allo also brings you the Google Assistant
Looks really cool. I'm about to try and get my friends and family off of WhatsApp and on to Allo so we can test it out together, but what do I tell them? Everyone is so comfortable with WhatsApp and even our local schools and communities use it to communicate as a group. Why would anyone switch?

@mchang - love the UI - small question: what is the whole idea behind the incognito chat possibility? If I select this, I can choose who I want to 'incognito' chat with. So meaning that the person I select his / her identify is known to me, but they don't know who I am? Curious to learn more about the use cases here.

@ludwigdumont The incognito chat works just like the normal chat, but instead of Google saving the messages, it activates the end-to-end encryption and allows the user to set an expiration timer for each message.

@franzwagner_ternus Hi so thanks for the explanation, but I'm basically trying to figure out when and why this will be used. Currently it seems as if the incognito part only covers the sender's identity and not the receiver's one. So I'm wondering about the motivator behind this...Is a potential use case like sending messages to your secret crush or telling people what you think of their POV without revealing who you are...
I have questions about the development of the app: How many people are working on the development of Allo? What is the composition of the team? Product owner, developers, designers etc.? And can't find it in the german app store. When it's available in Germany?
