GolfTrippr - Your golf trip deserves better than a spreadsheet

by
GolfTrippr is a free web app for organising golf trips. Add your group (4–16+ players), enter handicaps, and it auto-balances fourball teams and generates fixtures so everyone plays with as many different partners and faces as many different opponents as possible. It automatically pulls the details of the courses you are playing. Track Stableford scores and team results live. Share a live scoreboard link with the group. Export to PDF. Works on mobile — no app required. Free to use.

Hey Product Hunt I'm Matt — I work in financial services in the UK and have played golf since I was a teenager. Every year our group does a golf trip: usually 8–12 lads, 3–5 rounds on different courses. For years, the "organisation" looked like this: someone (usually me) opens an Excel sheet at 11pm the night before the trip, tries to set up the teams fairly, and then tries to set up the fixtures so each golfer plays with, and against, as many different people as possible. This is harder than it sounds! I couldn't find anything built for this. So I built it. And then I started adding extra features as I got carried away. The problem GolfTrippr solves: Running a golf trip fixture list by hand is a mess. You want everyone to play with as many different partners as possible and face as many different opponents as possible — but doing that fairly across 3, 4, or 5 rounds in a group of 8–16 is a genuinely hard combinatorial problem. Then you still need to balance teams by handicap, track Stableford scores across rounds, and keep a running leaderboard the whole group can see. Who it's for: • Anyone organising a golf trip — annual society trips, stag dos, corporate days, mates' trips • Group size 4–16+ players, 2–7 rounds • You don't need to be technical; if you can fill in a form, you can use this What it does: • Auto-balanced fixtures — Enter player names and handicaps; it generates fourball pairings that maximise partner variety and opponent variety across all rounds • Stableford scoring — Enter scores after each round; it calculates total points and tracks cumulative leaderboard • Team match tracking — Records match play results alongside Stableford • Live shareable scoreboard — One link the whole group can open on their phones during the trip, updates in real time • PDF exports — Fixtures sheet, scorecards, leaderboard — print or send ahead of the trip • Course handicap calculator — Takes slope rating, course rating, and tee to give you the right playing handicap for each course How it's different: There's nothing else that does the fixture generation part — that's the hard bit, and it's the bit I built first. Everything else (scoring, shareable links, PDF) is there because once you've got the fixtures sorted, you need the rest of the workflow too. Pricing: Completely free. No sign-up wall on core features, no subscription, no credit card. I built it for my owntrips — I just made it public so others could use it. What I'd love from you: If you play or organise golf trips (or know someone who does), give it a go at golftrippr.golf and tell me what's missing or broken. I'm a solo developer/user of this — your feedback goes directly into the next version. Happy to answer any questions below.
