Hi everyone! For over 10 years I've worked at the intersection of community and business. I cofounded CMX which hosts a network of over 20K community-oriented professionals that we support with training, events, and research. CMX was acquired by Bevy, a platform that powers all of your virtual and in-person community events, where I am now the VP of Community. I also recently published my new book, "The Business of Belonging" where I share over a decade of knowledge on what a winning community strategy looks like, from metrics to techniques. I'm happy to share my experiences and answer any questions you may have on how to successfully build community, host events, measuring community business value, and building startups.
How did you come up with your startup name? https://evoke-app.com/ was named after some controversial guy from a debate server my co-founder frequented Was all he could think about while coding
A lot of people try to avoid launching their product on weekends because the traffic isn t as high as it is on weekdays. (And yes, that s true. But I still believe that launching on weekends comes with a lot of advantages.)
For example, the benefits are:
Since there s less launch saturation and lower competition, with the right strategy, you have a better chance of ranking in top positions.
You can discover a lot of great lifestyle products and products in the fun category.
There s also a higher chance of getting more personal interactions and catching up on old notifications during the week, things move fast, and I often use weekends to catch up on conversations I didn t have time for.
One minor thing: You will not lose your PH streak.
I don't know about you, but I feel like I've been working non-stop for years now, and I don't know how I'm able to do it. And it's often because I include activities in my daily life that make my work more enjoyable or break up the monotony.
For example:
I exercise every day (and listen to video casts about tech, business, and marketing in the background)
