That poll split is spot on. For us at Mobiwolf, experience and portfolio matter, but willingness to learn and adapt is the ultimate tie-breaker—especially in mobile and emerging tech where frameworks change every year. You can teach syntax, but you can't teach curiosity or grit.
Interestingly, if I had to add a third 50% slice to that pie, it would be communication and autonomy. A brilliant developer who can't articulate a technical blocker or work independently will drain more team energy than they're worth. How heavily do you weigh culture fit or communication skills versus pure technical output when you're bringing someone onto a project?
