What are the 5 tools you simply couldn't do your work without?

Here are my 5 (I couldn't function without them):

  1. Grammarly – proofreading my texts, not just posts, but also client communication

  2. ChatGPT / Claude – mostly brainstorming, help with copy, and summarising

  3. Figma – I can put the basic graphics together quickly.

  4. Translator – sounds incredibly old-school, but English is not my mother tongue

  5. Gmail – and not only for communication, but also for storing ideas and sending myself email reminders for posts

[and soon one more that I am working on – – prevents me from being banned on LinkedIn, so I will not lose my account.]

Mine would be:

  1. Claude Code / Codex – AI pair programmer.

  2. Obsidian – External brain.

  3. modelARch – Think about the business before the code.

  4. NotebookLM – Research companion.

  5. Stitch – Fast UI prototyping.

It's interesting that only one tool is actually about writing code. The rest are about understanding, organizing, or validating ideas.

That stack is practically a modern founder's survival kit. Grammarly and the AI models do the heavy lifting, but using Gmail as an inbox-zero idea locker is an underrated productivity hack—I do the exact same thing when inspiration hits on the go.

The mention of SafeLimit is fascinating, too. Relying on LinkedIn for distribution is high-stakes, and getting hit with a ban or restriction can quietly wreck a growth pipeline overnight. Building a tool to solve your own platform-risk pain point is usually where the best micro-SaaS ideas come from.

My stack currently leans heavily on Cursor for coding workflows, Notion for keeping the team aligned, and a mix of Claude and ChatGPT for everything from brainstorming to technical documentation. What made you finally pull the trigger on building SafeLimit instead of just living with the risk?

My 5:

  1. Claude – My bestie at this point. Knows me a little too well. 😂

  2. Notion – Every plan, decision and piece of documentation lives here.

  3. Figma – Design + collab. Easy.

  4. LottieFiles – Home for all my animations. The CDN + oEmbed keeps them alive on our websites.

  5. Slack – Where work happens. Keeping everyone in sync.

There are tools and platform I still use beyond this but I think it safe to say these are my top 5

3. Instagram edits app for quick edits on vertical videos

4. Notion - my personal diary at this point

InvoiceBadger: the invoicing. Full disclosure, it's my own thing. I built it because I kept putting off invoicing, and now I just tell my AI what I did and it writes them.

Anyone else gone fully serverless as a solo dev, or am I the odd one out?

Great picks. I'd probably swap Gmail for a system design tool. As a founder, I've realised spending 20–30 minutes thinking through architecture before writing code saves hours later. If you ever need one, I'd love to hear what you think after trying Antoant.
