The line between authentic launch sharing and driving genuine traffic
Lately I have been thinking a lot about launch day distribution and how we communicate with our initial network. When launching a product, the natural instinct is to send the direct link to friends, family, and early followers asking them to check it out. But I often wonder about the best way to handle this without triggering unintended penalties or spam filters.
From what I observe, direct link promotion can sometimes lead to superficial visits rather than organic exploration. At the same time, seeing services that trade engagement or artificially inflate numbers is really disheartening for honest builders who put months of effort into their products.
It makes me wonder how other founders handle launch day outreach responsibly. Do you send people directly to your page, or do you ask them to find your project on the main feed to keep the traffic pattern natural?
