Should AI startup programs support founders before they build with AI?
AI is becoming a major part of software development, but there's a challenge I don't hear discussed enough: how do independent founders get access to AI if they don't yet have the resources to integrate it into their products?
I'm an independent founder from Pakistan. I've already built and launched a SaaS platform, and my next goal is to introduce AI tools and agents that help creators, freelancers, and small businesses save time and grow.
I've explored startup programs from major AI companies, but I haven't secured support yet. Building independently means making difficult choices about what I can afford to develop next.
I understand that startup programs have limited resources and their own eligibility criteria. However, I wonder whether there's room for programs specifically designed for founders who have a working product, a clear vision for AI, and the willingness to build, but lack the resources to get started.
Without access to affordable models, credits, or technical mentorship, how can these founders experiment, demonstrate what's possible, and compete with better-funded companies?
For founders who have faced this challenge: how did you get started? And for people involved in AI startup programs, what support would make the biggest difference at this stage?

I applied to a few of those startup programs last year and got the same experience. They seem built for teams that already have AI in production. Would love to see a list of programs that actually support the idea to prototype phase.
