Reevaluating your Q1 goals: What have you managed to accomplish in the first quarter of 2026?

Here we go again!

I started setting new goals every 3 months and then checking in on how well I was doing.

Here’s what I wanted to accomplish from January 1st to March 31st:

Work goals:

πŸ‘‰ Edit min. 15 pre-recorded YouTube videos
❌ Unfortunately not, BUT!!! I hired someone to do it for me.

πŸ‘‰ Remove inactive newsletter subscribers, which will be in the hundreds (this will be mentally difficult)

βœ… Yes, I did this and have a feeling I need to do it again since the open rate went down.

πŸ‘‰ Product launch on Product Hunt (this is a specific product, not a random product)

βœ… Yes, we ended up in the 6th place.

Personal goals:

πŸ‘‰ Stay consistent in exercising

βœ… Every single day

πŸ‘‰ Learn 4 languages (+ read lessons from textbooks I ordered), ideally every day

〰️ This time, only exercising with DuoLingo.

πŸ‘‰ Eat less sweets

❌ No, I still have my sweet tooth. πŸ˜…

πŸ‘‰ Go to bed before midnight more often (and not at 2, like I did before)

❌ I managed to go to sleep before 1 AM, nothing to be proud of.

Besides that I:
– started collaborating on one social media project (helping with LinkedIn to co-founders)
– was blocked on LinkedIn multiple times
– secured at least 2 or 3 sponsors
– got know new people, were hiking and stuff like these.

Wow... This is impressive. I don't think I've achieved any goal yet and I take the blame for it. I wasn't even consistent to start with and when I tried, I became burnt out. But I'm trying to get back on my feet and get moving.

@george_estherΒ Good news is that you can set up goals for your Q2 :)

Wow 4 languages is impressive. πŸ˜…

Work:

πŸ‘‰ Increase social media presence

Still very much a work in progress. Trying to be more consistent and intentional here.

πŸ‘‰ Launch our app

Managed to get this out the door, even in the middle of a cross-country move.

Personal:

πŸ‘‰ Work out more consistently

Not perfect, but averaging ~4 days/week (unless I accidentally injure myself againπŸ˜…)

πŸ‘‰ Meditating/journaling daily

Also around 4 days/week. Not daily, but getting back into a routine.

Q1 was exhausting but feeling good about the overall progress despite the chaos.

@bettinagrilloΒ Don't make any illusions. I do not know any of those languages properly :D

Regarding your social media presence – where was it strongest?

Hopefully, you are recovered from the injury :)

@busmark_w_nikaΒ Learning 4 at once is still quite the undertaking. You’ve got to start somewhere, so go you! πŸ‘πŸΌ

Our social media presence is pretty minimal right now, but we did see some early engagement during our beta on Reddit. It’s definitely an area we haven’t focused on much yet, so it’s high on the list for Q2 and probably beyond.

And thank you. I’m mostly recovered 😊

Nika

@bettinagrilloΒ Focusing solely on Reddit, or also other social media?

Bettina Grillo
@busmark_w_nika I’m mostly focused on Instagram rn, trying to post daily there 🫠

Q1 was the most productive quarter I have had. Set myself a challenge to ship 50 SaaS products by end of 2026 and used Q1 to lay the foundation. Shipped 8 products including DBADocs, ComplaintForge, PagePulse and GetSorted. Each one solving a specific problem for a specific audience. The goal I missed was getting the first paying customer before end of March. Still chasing that one. The goal I didn't set but probably should have was community. Only just started showing up on Product Hunt and it's clear I left a lot on the table by building in isolation. Q2 is going to look very different on that front.
