Product Hunt is on track for 228K submissions in 2026 — 5× more than just two years ago

by

Product Hunt is becoming brutally competitive.

And if you’ve been launching here for a few years, you’re not imagining it

In 2023:
→ ~41K products were submitted
→ ~15K were featured
→ roughly 1 in 3 made it to the homepage

In 2025:
→ ~83K products were submitted
→ ~5K were featured
→ roughly 1 in 16

And in 2026 so far:
147K products have already been submitted
→ only ~4.9K were featured
roughly 1 in 30 products

At the current pace, Product Hunt is heading toward roughly 228K submissions this year.

That’s more than 5× the 2024 volume.

I’ve been launching products on PH for years, and this explains something I’ve been feeling for a while: launches aren’t necessarily getting worse — the funnel has simply become much more crowded.

What I’m most curious about is: what caused this explosion in submissions?

We went from 43K products in 2024 to a projected 228K in 2026 — more than 5× in just two years.

My first guess is AI. Building and launching a product has become dramatically easier, so perhaps we’re simply seeing the result of that.

💬 Do you think AI is behind this growth — or is something else happening on Product Hunt?

Best

and how many votes you need

Takeaway — the pattern holds across all three ranks:

- Monday is the easiest day within the Mon-Thu block (fewest votes needed for any of the three spots)

- Wednesday is the hardest (peaks on all three metrics)

- Tuesday and Thursday sit in between, with Tuesday slightly tougher than Thursday

The gap between the easiest (Mon) and hardest (Wed) day for #1 is ~114 votes (528.7 → 642.5) — roughly 22% more competition on Wednesdays.

Wow, that's interesting data. Where did you get it from?

I grabbed it with the official PH API and analyzed it with Claude Code

 Good job!
