My Product Hunt KP jumped from 167 to 388 in under two weeks. Forum threads did almost all of it.
Pulled my own kitty points breakdown again since it moved a lot since the last time I checked. Sitting at 388 KP total now. Forum Threads plus 272, Comments plus 101, Reviews plus 10, Maker plus 6.
Ten days ago Forum Threads were plus 87 and Comments were plus 64, so the gap did not just grow, it flipped which category actually drives the number. A handful of threads are now outscoring every comment I have ever left combined.
Still missing the one line almost everyone ranked above me on the leaderboard carries. Verified Account, plus 20, one time, no writing involved. Checked a dozen profiles above mine and all of them have it. I do not, and claiming it would be the single biggest jump available to me right now, bigger than my next several threads combined.
If you have claimed it, what did the actual flow look like? Trying to work out if it is friction in the process or people just not knowing the line exists.

Mine went through and there is not much to it. Form on the profile, work email on your own domain plus LinkedIn, then a human reviews it. No writing involved, so the friction is the wait rather than the flow. That was mid July though, it may have changed since.
The part I would push back on is the timing. At 167 that +20 was worth chasing. At 388 it is five percent, and two more threads at your current rate cover it. You are asking about it right at the point where it stopped being your biggest lever, which is close to the thing you wrote about yesterday.
@jernej_jan_kocica Fair on the percentage, but the comparison should be against cost, not just size. Two more threads means real research and writing time. The verification form is a few minutes plus a wait, no writing involved by your own account. Same absolute KP, a much cheaper way to get it. Worth taking even past the point where it stopped being the single biggest lever.

The distinction I would keep is that it is one-time. Cheap and finite means do it now and stop thinking about it, but that makes it a floor, not a lever. Once it is claimed you are back to threads either way, which is where the 272 came from.
@jernej_jan_kocica Fair, zero variance is the reason to grab it regardless. Two threads at this rate might land anywhere between the redirect-loop thread and a full breakdown post. The badge does not have that spread, it is the one line on the whole list guaranteed to land at exactly +20. Sequencing the guaranteed thing before the variable one is not about the badge mattering more, it is just not skipping a free roll while chasing the harder one.
I can answer the flow question from the unclaimed side, because I have been through it twice and still do not have the line.
The flow itself: form on the verification page, work email, GitHub, LinkedIn. All three of mine show confirmed ticks and the page heading carries a green tick. The Request verification button is the strange part. No confirmation, no state change, nothing visible happens at all. I only know my requests went in because I watched the network tab and saw the POST return 200. If you click it and assume it failed, that is the friction you are asking about. People almost certainly request it, see nothing, and never know whether it registered.
Jernej's mid July experience had a human review and a wait, which matches mine so far. First request late July, second this week, badge still absent. So the wait can run to weeks, not days.
One thing your situation settles that I could not test alone. My threads get auto rejected and I put it down to the missing verification. You post threads daily at 272 KP worth, with no Verified Account line. Same missing badge, opposite thread outcome. So whatever gates thread creation on a young account, it is not verification. Your interaction history is the variable mine lacks, which means the badge is worth your +20 and nothing more. For accounts like mine it was never the lever I hoped it was, and I found that out from your breakdown rather than another rejected test post.
