Beating the comforts of the comfort zone and maintaining the productivity is a herculean task.

I like to work from office.

It depends on the work needed to be done. If it's repetitive tasks or something you need to be hyper-focused on WFH is great(if you don't have any distractions). If it's creative work, or planning/strategy, then I think the office is great. It's much better and easier to bounce ideas and strategies between people than on your own.

Depends how you measure it. Taking out the travel time, time to go outside to get food, the time taken to chat to someone in the corridor, or have a chat over the coffee machine means I am WAAYY more productive at home. But, in some ways, the times spent connecting with colleagues, having that accidental break-through on a problem shared, discussing things which are ostensibly off-topic but then turn out useful. That can also be productivity.

No. But I had to take steps to protect my productivity, just like you'd have to do in the office. The temptations at home are different than the office. Instead of chatting with someone in the break room, you have Netflix calling your name. The most important thing I did when I started working remotely in 2014 was to create a workspace. At the time it was a dedicated space at my kitchen table, and now it's a dedicated office in my house. Avoid the couch and definitely do not work in your bed. When I hear someone struggling with productivity while working from home it's often because they don't have a dedicated workspace.

because the comfort zone is an artificial comfort and it is very difficult to beat it

I have worked from home most of my 23+ year career (even pre-covid) so I am used to it and my family knows to leave me alone for the most part. Recommendations for maximum productivity: 1. Give your family a signal. For example, if you have your headphones on (if they can see into your office), then they know not to disturb you. Or a simple sign on your door. 2. Work early or late hours to keep distractions to a minimum. 3. Daily checklist. If you are prone to or welcome distractions, then plan out your daily list and simply work until it is done regardless of hours at your desk and allow for the interruptions. 4. I love headphones. I just put them on, let my music take me and crank out the work. I think most organizations understand working from home now. I still watch people get embarrassed when their kid or dog comes barging in. No one cares anymore and if they do, they may not be the right partner/client for you. I recently talked to an attorney of a billion dollar company who was on camera - in her pajamas. No one cares.

Yes, so much! I can be more productive in the office

As most of my work is done independently, working from home saves my time from commuting, so it improves my productivity.
