Is keeping a personal decision log worth it when you build alone?

by•

Been working as a solo dev for a while and the lack of feedback on code quality is definitely the hardest part.

You never really know if your architecture is solid or just holding together by luck.

Started writing down brief notes on why i pick certain tech choices just to double check my own thinking.

It helps a bit with clarity before pushing changes.

For anyone else coding without a team what small habits keep you from making bad technical trade offs

the log helped most when i wrote down the assumption behind each choice, not just the choice. a week later the usage data usually tells me which assumptions were wrong faster than re-reading my own reasoning. building alone, your numbers are the teammate who argues back.
