There might be other contenders. Feel free to list them and explain something about them if possible 🙌

Google is still very much in the race. Everyone forgets that ChatGPT was made using the conversational AI platform made by Google and also has their own Generative Pre-trained Transformer in LaMDA which they've been working on in private for years. ChatGPT is still not production ready and whilst of course early adopters are running with it, there is still plenty of time for a Google or someone else to steal the market.

WriteSonic is trying something Google Switch Transformer is just late, but will also adapt
Kai
I guess Google will always be a contender with a huge distribution channel. @marc_tf Does WriteSonic have any proprietary tech or using any API?

Sooo much to digest, I believe. We need to test, use, criticize, build and in overall discuss more to see if the market share will swift as well
Kai
@ege_evrensel Agreed, we are probably only at the beginning. Eager to see how this evolves :D

I think it's too early to say any one company has won; we're in the infancy stages still of A.I and what it can do whilst impressive is pretty tame, there's still a long way to go, and I wouldn't count out a company like Google.
Kai
@aaronoleary The AI future is exciting and scary at the same time. Let's see what 2023 has to say about that :D

I think Google won't give up easily and they will not try to lower the relevance of AI but probably developing their own.
Kai
@derstartupcfo Agreed. Google has a huge distribution channel, so the moment they develop (or fully develop) their own, they could make a successful move on the market.

I don't even think the race has even started yet. ChatGPT just gets NLP into the hands of the average consumer, but it's not a fully complete product. GPT-3 also from OpenAI is stronger, but not easily accessible for the average person so most don't know about it. Google definitely has very strong models yet to be released. Also, there are many races. AI is a generally used term, but not a good one to describe all the things happening. There are separate races in NLP, vision, etc since they all require different types of models and are trained on different datasets.

Good overview of the current situation. Let's keep a close look on what AI brings for this 2023 year :D @kevinxu3

They are, in fact, because they don't want to end a war without a battle. 😃
Kai
@ankitsharmaofficial The more the merrier for the market :D

Google is in the race for everything - self driving cars, webmail, ai, search engine, etc Google being a jack of all trades (and master of, like, 2) is both a blessing and a hindrance
Kai
@itspablo Agreed. The are opening as many business as closing them. Let's see if this time they surprises us :D

I think its more like a marathon, and everyone participating is a winner.
Kai
