How to take care of your Product Hunt profile? (Mini-guide)

I believe that your chances of becoming visible on this platform also depend on how credible you appear.

In the past, there were even bots on Product Hunt, which led to the introduction of certain measures:

– stricter moderation of published content (especially forum discussions),
– profile verification (green badge),
– mandatory use of real first and last names instead of random usernames.

These steps help make profiles more trustworthy. I’d also add a few more best practices:

• include your professional background, the companies you’ve worked for or currently work with, your interests, and your goals on the platform,

• add links to your profile (X, LinkedIn, website),

• stay active in forums (this activity is also visible at the bottom of your profile),

• upload a photo (ideally a real one),

• try launching a product, as this also appears in your Maker history,

• and stay active overall – commenting, writing reviews, etc. – as this can influence follower growth, kitty points, and your daily login streak.
