How do you set spend limits for agents that can buy or book?

Curious how people here handle this in practice. When an agent has a card or API budget for bookings and SaaS, do you use a hard daily cap, approve each charge, or something else? The acting side keeps getting better, but money controls still feel bolted on.

My agents never hold a card at all. The working rule is simple: anything that spends money or reaches real users needs a yes from me first, while routine work like builds, tests and deploys doesn't. For ad budgets the cap lives in the ad platform itself, a daily budget the agent can suggest but not raise. I'd put the limit where the money is rather than in the agent's instructions, because a prompt is a suggestion and a platform cap is a wall. A virtual card per agent with its own monthly limit would be my next step if I ever let one book things.
