Horizontal vs Vertical: What’s the smarter positioning for a Product Hunt launch?

I’ve seen a lot of vertical products, very focused, very niche, wonder if that will limit them on Product Hunt. The thinking is:

“Our ICP isn’t here. Should we go broader, more horizontal, just for launch?”

I do have my perspective, but honestly, what interests me most is hearing from others who’ve gone through this.

– If your product is vertical, did you present it as-is on PH?

– Or did you broaden the messaging to make it resonate with a wider audience?
