Do you think BARD will overtake ChatGPT?

Do you think BARD will take over ChatGPT because it's part of the Google ecosystem and will be integrated and adopted quicker by the mass? Or does ChatGPT already have a considerable headstart?

I think BARD has some potential to surpass ChatGPT but it will take time. Many people are already actively using ChatGPT (or if they're not using it, they're definitely aware of its existence) and I can tell from my own experience that it's hard to convince people to switch to a new tool once they've grown accustomed to the first one. Not to mention OpenAI is surely aware of their competition, so they will most likely come up with all sorts of improvements and updates to stay ahead of the game. It will be an interesting competition, that's for sure. 😄
Convincing someone to switch is challenging indeed. I think their biggest advantage will be that BARD will be integrated in the Google ecosystem that a lot of people are using already. It will definitely be an interesting competition!
It can compete with it, but I don't think will overtake it!
It's going to be an interesting battle for sure!
Maybe keep abreast
Google has a head-start with search and user habits (everyone uses Google…not so with GPT) GPT has a head start on AI (so it seems) Should be a nice race.
Exactly! It will definitely be an interesting race
If you consider how much more data Google has through their Search monopoly, I would think so.
That is definitely going to be an advantage, but will it be enough?
Data is key. Obviously, the future is unpredictable and there's no telling what could happen, Google's data is a huge moat.
I mean google has great talent. So, if they wanted to then yeah. The big question is what they want.
Fair point!
I think it's time for a new player. So my hope is no, ChatGPT will win. :)
I think a lot of people are tired of the Google monopoly and share the same opinion
100%
After failing during the presentation, it seems even if it performs the same, MSFT will naturally take over quite a portion of search revenue, since Google must fight to keep up margins, while MSFT can compete with price. And it's the first one to launch it meaning many of millions of ppl using ChatGTP will try it at least due to curiosity.
Good statement, curiosity will definitely be sparked once it launches
The success of a language model like BARD or ChatGPT will depend on various factors such as quality, ease of use, and level of support. While being part of the Google ecosystem might give BARD an advantage, ChatGPT has already established itself as a highly capable model with a large user base. The outcome is uncertain and depends on the ability to meet user needs and provide value
