As a photographer, I was constantly losing track of my gear—forgetting what I owned, where I lent equipment, and when cameras needed maintenance. Spreadsheets were clunky and existing tools were either too basic or too expensive. I built GearDex to solve this pain point with AI-powered features that make inventory management actually enjoyable. GearDex 3.5 is out, and GearDex now has a native macOS app. On the web, 3.5 is all about shoot day. My Kit Snapshot (free) lets you pick up to 12 items from your gear, choose a look, and download a shareable PNG. Record Readiness (also free) shows what's missing from your gear records, like photos, serial numbers, values, and receipts. On Pro and Studio, the Unified Timeline puts call times, crew, checklist deadlines, weather, and light in one view, and Iris Prep Review flags gear conflicts and missing essentials.
