👋 Hi Product Hunt! I'm Ryutaro, the creator of FoodGram 🍜📍 I built FoodGram because I wanted a better way to remember the meals, cafés, and restaurants that made special moments in my life. Existing platforms focus on ratings and reviews, but FoodGram is designed around memories. Every meal has a story, a place, and an experience worth keeping. With FoodGram, you can: ✨ Save your favorite food memories on a map 📍 Track restaurants and cafés you've visited 📸 Build your own visual food journal ✈️ Relive your travels through food experiences Whether you're a foodie, traveler, or someone who simply loves discovering new places to eat, FoodGram helps you create a personal map of your culinary journey. I'd love to hear your thoughts, feedback, and ideas for making FoodGram even better. Thank you for checking it out! ❤️

Finally tried FoodGram and the no-scores, no-ads approach actually makes browsing feel calm and genuine. Scrolling through the global food map is genuinely addictive.

Thank you so much for trying FoodGram! 🙌

It really means a lot to know you're enjoying the experience.

Every post helps FoodGram grow and become better for everyone, so I'd love for you to share a meal too! 🌍📍🍜

It can be something you ate years ago, a memorable dish from your travels, or even today's lunch.

I'd be excited to see your food memories added to the map ✨

The food map feature is genuinely useful for finding spots when traveling, and I love that posts feel unfiltered without all the ad clutter. Surprised how clean the browsing experience is compared to other food apps.

Thank you so much! 🙌

That's exactly what I'm hoping to build with FoodGram.

A place where people can discover real food experiences while traveling, without ads or endless scores getting in the way.

Every post helps FoodGram evolve and become more useful for everyone. 🌍📍🍜

I'd love for you to share a meal too! It can be something you ate years ago, or a memorable dish from your travels. I'd be excited to see it on the map ✨

love the no-scores no-ads approach, feels refreshing already. one thing i'd find super useful: a "similar dishes" button on each post that shows other photos of people eating the same meal, so you can compare plating and presentation before deciding where to go. would make scrolling way more purposeful.

Thanks! I really appreciate that 🙌

I love this idea. Seeing different versions of the same dish from people around the world could make discovering food much more meaningful.

FoodGram is still evolving, so feedback like this is incredibly valuable.

If you get a chance, I'd love for you to try it and let me know what you think! 🍜🌍📍

One thing that would make this so much better for travel: let users add a dish to a "wishlist" tied to a specific city or trip, so when I'm planning a trip to Tokyo I can build a list of spots from the app instead of screenshotting. Would also love to see it on Android eventually.

Thank you so much! 🙌

I really love this idea.

A travel wishlist tied to cities or trips feels very aligned with FoodGram's vision of helping people discover food before, during, and after traveling.

Replacing endless screenshots with a personal food map would be amazing 🌍📍🍜

Every post helps FoodGram evolve, so I'd love for you to share a meal too! It can be a favorite dish from years ago or something memorable from your travels ✈️✨

And yes, FoodGram is already available on Android as well! I'd love to hear what you think after trying it.

Thank you for checking out FoodGram! 🙌
The screenshots on Product Hunt are currently in Japanese, but FoodGram already supports 10 languages 🌍✨
So there's a good chance you can experience the app in your own language!
I'd love for you to give it a try and share a meal too 🍜📍

How does the anonymous posting actually work if anyone can still see the food photos tied to a general location?

Great question!

Anonymous posts hide the poster's identity, including their username and profile information.

Other users can still discover the food photo and its general location, but they can't see who shared it or access the person's profile.

The goal is to let people share food experiences freely while keeping the focus on the meal itself rather than the individual behind it. 🍜📍

How does the anonymous posting actually work, like do your followers still see it or is it totally hidden from your account?

Great question! Anonymous posts are completely detached from your public account. They don't appear on your profile, and other users can't identify or access the original account behind the post.

People can still discover the food photo and location, but not the person who shared it!

If you're interested, I'd love for you to give it a try! Even an anonymous post would make me really happy. 🍜📍
