Hi All! I´m Vincent and together with my co-founder @Henry_wynaendts we are happy to show where we have been working on the past 11 months.
With flymble, you can easily spread the cost of your flight tickets over monthly terms. Fly to Bangkok for instance, for only £47 per month!
If you have some feedback on the concept, new ideas or design recommendations, please let us now! You will help us improve our beta and build towards the perfect product.
I´m happy to answer all questions you may have!
@vincent_hus Love your idea. What about cheaper flight tickets? (under 500 USD). Will you still be able to buy it? Or there's a minimum cost of the ticket?
@baidoct Hi Tudor! Thanks man! Yes you can purchase flight tickets cheaper than that, but there is indeed a minimum cost of £250 per ticket (in the UK). It actually depends on the financial party that issues the credit which differs per country. In the Scandinavian countries and Germany there will be no minimum :) US It will be $100 I believe.
@leo_bqecker Hi Leo! Yes France is on our top priority list.
P.S. I'm not supposed to tell you (since they are our competitor) but Misterfly.com is available in France. They offer up to 4 months spread payments and have received a lot of traction lately.
Luckily we love competition - flymble offers up to 10 months spread payments vs. 4 Misterfly ;)
As for time span: ''soon'' - we are in talks with a financial institution to make it happen.
@kostyarypta Hi Kostya! It isn´t 10 times cheaper - it lets you spread the cost of your flight ticket over up to 10 months. How it works on the backed: we´ve created a partnership with KIWI.com who provides the flight tickets, and partnerships with providers of credit who´s - API´s we then use to perform a credit check and issue the credit. For 10 month the APR is around 20%, which also depends on the departure date.
It is best I think to use it in combination with a tool like Hopper to predict the airfares prices, and then calculate how much money you could save or not with our platform. We´re planning to integrate hopper later on as well.

Have you seen Airfordable? https://www.airfordable.com/ They're like you, but US based and not reliant on credit checks.
@creatrixtiara Hi Creatrix! Thanks for mentioning - yes I've read a lot about them, great company! I saw they were also on Product Hunt and will contact them to ask them for advice. From what I've seen it's impressive what they have accomplished so far.
The difference between Airfordable and Flymble is that with Flymble you'll receive your ticket right away.
Yes we are reliant on credit checks but for customers that do not pass the credit check, we also offer a ''pay before you fly'' installment plan where there is no credit check either.
@tjpatel Hi Trishul! Thanks for the support! Yes we charge around 1.5% per month. That is correct: spread payment provider Affirm has started a pilot program with Expedia in the US.
Report
@tjpatel@vincent_hus Your website states:
"Pay a one-off fee upfront ranging from 10.5% - 17%, depending on the departure date. We will never charge a dime more than the original price disclosed, no additional interest or fees."
Has this changed since this comment? 10.5% - 17% booking + 1.5% per month seems pretty extortionate.
@15greenberg I think that mobile apps are way overhyped at this time. Every startup or big corporate seems to want an app, while in reality people only want apps that they use on a daily basis. Most people travel around 1.8 times a year and will delete right away I think.
Do you agree / disagree? Do you think we should need an app?
@vincent_hus personally as a young person I book from my phone or a bot on Facebook I think websites are needed but young people those that would need this are mobile first
Congrats @vincent_hus & team! As a fellow UK-er, great to see a UK startup featured! I've got a couple of plans to fly to some places this year so I'll definitely give Flymble a go 👌
@gadgick Hi Nick! Good to hear man - thanks a lot. Give me a nudge when the moment is there to book and I might be able to give you a friendly discount ;)
Just message me at founders@flymble.com
Any plans to launch flymble in India soon? Awesome idea for budget travellers and people who can't dedicate to save big money only for travelling which they dream of!
@sagar868 Hey Sagar! I would say around 9 months. In order to launch in India we have to both integrate all major destinations (1) and find a local FinTech partner (2). Luckily we already offer all destinations, now we only need to find a local partner. This shouldn't be to difficult since their are many amazing FinTech startups coming from India. But before we do that we do need to improve our website and make sure it runs smooth. How do you like it?
Report
@vincent_hus@sagar868 Here in India, while making a payment with a credit card, we can already convert any online transaction to 3/6/12 months EMI.
@jagan123 Hi Jagan! Interesting, do you use it often yourself? If you would have to estimate, how many % of total transactions do people use it on average?
Report
@jagan123@vincent_hus Very much Vincent. Most of our e-commerce transactions are through EMI's (3, 6, 12 months) with 10% interest rate.
Your idea will be a boon for Indian international and domestic travelers.
@jagan123@paramananthamharrison Awesome. We will let you know when we expand to India, from our reports it also seems like a great opportunity and a much wanted product. Good to hear from you again!

@vincent_hus A quick question: love the idea btw!
1. Does this a pose significant risk to your business?
If someone defaults or wants to cancel what happens, considering the ticket is technically owned by Flymble?
@ratan_mehta Hey Ratan! Good to hear that you like it :)
Thanks for the question. It does not impact to our business and the risk is taken on by the payment service-and credit providers. Technically speaking it is an invoice financing situation. It is the same as with phones - very often the telecom companies do not hold the debt risk but they work together with invoice financing companies who bridge the payment gap.
@ratan_mehta As for your second question - the answers on quora are not (completely) correct!
Name change and ticket reselling is something that will exist everywhere within 2 years. We are working very hard to let customers cancel their ticket for no reason and receive 80% back.
Actually there are already companies offering such ervice. Take a look here: https://www.transfertravel.com/e...
Report
@vincent_hus I was suggesting a little more far fetched. You buy all tickets the moment they are available, so you always have the lowest per month ticket available in the market. Then after a quick round of Googling realised this would amount to scalping.
@dilyaraskar Hey Dilyar!
Flynowpaylater.com is one of the many companies we work together with (Afterpay, Klarna, KIWI.com etc).
Below, ill try to provide you some more insight about how we see ourselves as a company.
Our vision for Flymble is a next generation travel platform - and we are progressing towards that goal by creating a lot of applications. Like the first one: pay monthly for travel, and the next ones are Social Booking and Travel Gamification.
Let me talk about Social Booking first, because in (my view) it will change the whole travel industry.
Today almost everybody travels in a group or about 75%. That means that travel, at its very core, is a social process – and booking platforms have completely ignored the customer pain points that come with social.
Gathering the passport info of your family, splitting the bill with your friends or making sure to be on the same flight as your business associates. So – where is the social part??
That is why we are integrating within the booking process the possibility of flight booking through social networks. Invite your friends via social networks to join your flight – and book together as easy as accepting a friend request on Facebook. We call this Social Booking – group travel at the press of a button.
You don’t even have to worry about exchanging payment details with your friends – because you can Book now and pay later. It solves all the hassle with group booking – and provides a travel platform that is truly is created for the 75% of people that do travel together.
I’ve just uploaded a screenshot of this tool up here and added it to the other photos. Let me know what you think!
