What made you cancel your last e-signature tool?

by

I'm launching a signing tool on Tuesday, and I'd rather hear this before launch day than after.

While building it I read the pricing pages of every major competitor properly — not the headline, the fine print. Some of what I found:

• DocuSign Standard is $30/user/month and still caps you at 100 envelopes per user per year.

• Adobe's "annual, billed monthly" plan looks month-to-month but is a 12-month commitment, and leaving early costs 50% of the remaining term. The DOJ sued over how that was disclosed; Adobe settled in March 2026 for $150M without admitting wrongdoing.

• Several tools advertise "unlimited" and cap you further down the page.

What I want to know from people who actually pay for these:

1. What finally made you cancel — price, a cap you hit, or the billing experience?

2. Has a "cancel anytime" claim ever turned out not to be true for you?

3. If you're still paying for one, what keeps you there?

I'm asking because the product I built is a bet that the signing part is solved and the billing relationship isn't. If that bet is wrong, I'd like to know on Saturday rather than Tuesday.

Happy to answer anything about how mine works, including the parts that aren't finished.
