Best
do you think facebook payments would be used for the transactions??
What makes craigslist great are the Job postings...once facebook allows me to post a job ad, then I would call it an Craigslist killer.
Facebook pages allow posting job ads, it's in the status update section of business pages.
This has definitely been around for a while. I bought a set of golf clubs through this in 2007 in Scotland.
I'll be curious to see if they have moderators ala the "unofficial" Facebook marketplace pages for neighborhoods, to guard against spam, profiling and heaven knows what else. I've heard that moderating those pages ends up sucking a fair amount of time -- will FB automate that process, or combine with bots and/or payments?
Anything public with the scale that they operate on will get spammed. Pretty much every fb group I've ever seen that's public that gets any significant number of people in it just ends up getting spammed to hell (aka made worthless).
Not a Craigslist killer competes more with offer ups of the world
wow! Facebook created another Ebay... so original!
I don't think it's going to kill Craigslist. I think that it will be promoted to try and stop the growth of Offerup
Such a great idea - especially for Australia. When will this be available in the Land Down Under?
I work in the Classifieds market. This can really be disruptive.
Great feature. But it will also be interesting to see how this affects the churn that Facebook is already facing from the below-30 age group.
