Could you explain what this is in layman's terms?
I've read the blog post, and I don't yet understand how this is useful. Don't designers want to create code, and not the other way around?
I've been following from afar watching the work and the team at Airbnb Design Language Systems have been doing with Sketch and React. I'm excited to see this fresh thinking come together with this new tool that is open-source and available for the broader community to build rich design systems with and collaborate with engineers. Kudos to all who contributed to this massive effort and step forward! 👏
Airbnb makes better design software than most actual design software companies, and it's great 🙌
i'm actually looking for the other way around - create react code from a design template.
This requires code style names for layers but is getting pretty close to what you ask for:
what about react native?
So excited that is finally releasing it under the Airbnb hood! Been following along since June last year when you wrote about declarative design and tools. Lots of innovation in UI development happening and I feel that by the end of 2017 we will have transcended the barrier between design and front-end development (at least the UI part). It's a no brainer that this will be achieved with React! Keep it up design hackers :)
If someone wants to get started, I have created a boilerplate project here -
I’ve been waiting for this tool ever since I heard was working on it. Pretty excited to see it launch and also to be able to start testing it in our design system projects.
Amazing app. Whether it is an app for mobile or web, develop human-centric and performance-oriented frontends using React libraries with our team of experienced developers and experts. Top companies use this app.
This is awesome! We're going to check this out for our team.
Sweeeeeet! Nice work ! Been following you since you put out René. This app is even more useful! We are using React. Can't wait to try it out!
