Einfall - Capture fugitive thoughts + route them to where they belong
by•
Einfall catches the fugitive thought — the one that falls into your head at the strangest times — before it's gone. Capture quick and easy on Mac, iPhone and iPad, from the menu bar, share sheet, Shortcuts, widgets, Spotlight and Siri. Process the thoughts by sending them to Reminders, Calendar, Files, a Shortcut, or by giving your AI agent control via MCP. Capture is free and unlimited. After the first 15 routing actions, a one-time $29.99 purchase unlocks unlimited routing.

@whyyasgwhy Thank you Yagna! I'm curious what the specific itch is, if you are happy to share. Always interested in how other people use something I made, and the uses or routes I never thought of.

Half my blog posts start as a note in whatever app was open, then I lose track of which one. Which route do you actually use most yourself?

@yelyzaveta_kibets Hi Lisa. For longer thoughts I'll later turn into something more, my most used route is the MCP one: Claude Code reads the thought from Einfall and processes it into my Obsidian vault, where my longer-form writing lives. The Files action is the simpler version of the same thing — append the thought to one inbox note, or to today's Daily Note in Obsidian. Either way the half-formed post ends up in the one place I'll look for it, rather than whichever app was open.
Second most used is Reminders, though that's shopping-list items and to-dos rather than writing.

@jpmarais Turns out my problem was never capture, it was four inboxes and checking none of them. Appending to one note is the fix I'd actually stick with.
