Hey PH — Pete here, the founder of the Dental Strategy Institute.

Quick backstory: I've spent 25 years working inside the dental industry with practices, DSOs, and procurement teams across the US. Not as a dentist, rather, on the business and strategy side.

The thing I watched happen constantly...a patient gets a treatment plan for $3,800, has zero frame of reference for whether that's reasonable, cheap or completely out to lunch - and either signs under pressure or skips treatment they actually need. Both outcomes are bad.

The data to solve this exists — geographic price benchmarks for every dental procedure exist. Nobody has built a clean, free, consumer-facing tool that made them accessible in plain English. So I built one. As a non-technical founder. Using AI development coding tools. While working a full-time job in the dental industry. I used Claude to teach me coding while it helped guide me through the steps. I learned how to use Supabase. I dug into Vercel. I learned a lot from chat and message boards and from asking questions to AI agents. As an old guy, it was a great learning experience.
