What is dbSpy?
db-Spy is an open source developer tool designed to help engineers visualize, edit and test SQL based relational databases. It supports live connection to remote PostgreSQL and MySQL databases or uploading of SQL files, and renders Entity Relational (ER) diagrams for schema and data. Built with React, TypeScript, Zustand, and TailwindCSS, dbSpy enables developers to iterate faster and work with a clearer and more informed understanding of their database structure.
Key Features:
✅Easily connect or upload and view SQL databases
✅Add tables, columns, and data and save your changes
✅Test, save, and compare queries to analyze performance (NEW!)
v8.0.0 Improvements:
🔍Test queries on PostgreSQL and MySQL databases and analyze metrics such as execution time, total cost, and actual rows. Then save queries to compare and track performance over various models and data sets.
✨UI improvements, including light and dark modes, a refreshed color palette, and responsive design.
🔐Fluid and secure authentication through Google & Github OAuth 2.0, as well as standard authentication option.
dbSpy aims to make database visualization and schema management free and intuitive. Version 8.0 takes that vision even further. By introducing new features like “Test New Query” and “View Saved Queries,” we’ve added meaningful tools for users to track and analyze model performance, all while refining the UI and updating core functionality that lagged behind modern capabilities.
