How Cubby Image for Figma supercharged our design workflow
When we built @Cubby Image for Photoshop two months ago, we already knew we had something useful: image generation, upscaling, and background removal all in one place. But as our team grew, one thing became obvious: collaboration was still clunky. Jumping between apps, exporting assets, copying prompts, passing files around… it slowed everything down.
So we brought Cubby Image into Figma. And the moment we started using it there, everything changed.
From solo editing to team-flow
In Photoshop, the workflow was great for a single creator. But when several people were working on the same design (layouts, assets, polish) it got messy fast. Prompts got lost, files got shuffled, and iteration dragged.
However in Figma, the whole team lives in one shared space. I can see the prompt a teammate is using, the images they generate, how they place them, and what they keep or discard. I can copy their prompt, run my own variation, grab their image, remove the background, and drop it straight into our design. No exporting, no hopping between tools.
Fewer context switches. Fewer hand-offs. Faster progress.
Faster iterations, tighter alignment
Designing for a campaign or product feature usually means tight deadlines. Before, generating an image and passing it around the team could take ages. With Cubby Image in Figma, that loop collapses. One person generates, another refines, someone else adjusts placement, all inside the same document, all in minutes.
Because everything stays where the design lives, alignment stays tight too. Layout and imagery evolve together, not in separate windows.
All-in-one tools where you already work
Cubby Image brings generation, upscaling, and background removal directly into Figma. You don’t need a separate app, you don’t need to shuttle files around — it’s all right there, in the flow of your design work.
It’s simple, but simple matters. When tools remove friction, teams experiment more, try more variations, and end up with better ideas.
Why this feels like the future of our workflow
We’re not reinventing design. We’re making the process smoother. When the whole team can create, edit, iterate, and compare ideas without leaving the canvas, everything speeds up: decisions, exploration, collaboration.
For us, the shift was huge. We went from “generate and send” to “generate, tweak, compare, choose; together, live, inside Figma.” And that feels a lot closer to how modern teams want to work.
TL;DR
@Cubby Image for Photoshop gave us powerful and highly precise tools. Cubby Image for Figma gave us a team-flow. Putting image generation and editing directly into a collaborative design environment changed how fast we can move and how many ideas we can explore.
If you design in Figma, try it out. Generate an image, drop it into your layout, remove a background, upscale it; all on the canvas, all without leaving your file. Then pass it to your team and keep iterating.
Thanks for checking us out on Product Hunt. We can’t wait to hear how it speeds up your workflow too.
