Hello Product Hunters! We’re thrilled to announce the international launch of our freelancing marketplace platform. Open both to individuals and professionals, everyone over 18 can turn their skills into services they can offer online on ComeUp for free. Striving for all freelancers to receive fair pay, the platform offers a $1-only commission option so that freelancers can maximize their earnings. Say “goodbye” to high percentage-based commissions and say “bonjour” to fair retribution for freelancers. Businesses and individuals can also find the services they need on the platform. There are eight main categories ranging from graphic design to everyday life. In addition, there are many sub-categories. Whatever you may need, as long as it's an online service, it's on ComeUp. In 2013 we launched the first version of ComeUp under the name 5euros. And ever since, we’ve gone in the opposite direction to all the other marketplace websites and the work market favoring fair pay for freelancers and putting community at the center of what we do to provide sellers with all the tools they need to succeed. In October 2022, 5euros became ComeUp in preparation for our international launch. Our ambition remains the same — providing freelancers with a solution that is truly suited to them to grow their business. We can’t wait to welcome everyone to the platform and see what delightful services you choose to offer on the platform. ComeUp belongs to all of its users and strives to empower its community members to succeed. Join our community and share all your feedback or questions with us.

💡 Bright idea
How do you avoid the problem with "race to the bottom" that often occur on skill marketplaces?
Victor About
That's a great question @sentry_co . I think there are many things to consider when it comes to handling competition on freelancing platforms. For freelancers to succeed on skill marketplaces, they need to be experts in their field and offer an attractive offer. But as a platform, we also need to play our part to make sure everyone gets a chance to be featured to potential service buyers. To do so we use an algorithm that determines the ranking of services. ComeUp uses an algorithm to distribute work based on merit. The below criteria help to rank services that sellers offer (in order of importance): - Completion rate (Percentage of orders completed in the past) - Average response time - On-time deliveries(Percentage of orders delivered on time in the past) - Positive/negative reviews - Order acceptance rate (Percentage of orders accepted by sellers in the past) Furthermore, there's also a parameter in place to give new sellers a chance to shine on the platform by being ranked higher in searches at the beginning. To give everyone a chance, it only takes into account the last six months of your work.

@victor_about Sounds like your thinking about these things. Places like upward are doomed if you nail it. Good luck today 🚀

Great idea @joffrey, by looking at @sentry_co answered question, I believe it's clear what your unique value proposition is... I wonder about user acquisition, both freelancers and businesses... How's that looking? Keep up the good work
Victor About
Thank you @ifranchini ! Yes, it's interesting to have to adapt marketing messages to two different audiences. But in the end, we believe that talent will also help us attract new businesses that will become good clients on the platform. As we're getting started in the international market we're first focusing on attracting enough skilled freelancers to the platform. We're also taking steps to ensure that there will be clients on the platform for them. At first most of our marketing budget will be directed towards recruiting freelancers using campaigns on platforms such as Meta and Google. We'll then expand our marketing efforts to cover more areas. Additionally, we believe that the transparency we choose to adopt and our $1-only commission option is not only something that will convince freelancers to join us, but also businesses to use ComeUp instead of other platform. Anyone would feel better paying a freelancer what they deserve instead of paying a freelancer only for them to be charged huge fees by the platform they offer their services on.
