Maker's First Comment for v12.0.0
Hey PH
I'm Dipto, and I built Clify because I was tired of opening YouTube to learn and ending up 2 hours deep in Shorts about nothing.
Clify is a free, open-source Chrome extension that strips YouTube down to what matters. Here's what v12.0.0 ships:
3-Layer Ad Blocker Network rules block ~90 ad domains. DOM removal kills 120+ ad selectors every 800ms. fetch/XHR interception overrides ad API calls. No external filter lists. No dependencies.
Change Logs For Clify
v12 Major - SponsorBlock, Content Density, Ad Blocker, Language Blocking, Channel Manager, Monetization Badge, Dashboard redesign
v10 New - Volume Boost, PiP, Shortcuts, Hide Trending, Auto-Confirm Pause
v9 New - Focus Mode, Schedule Blocking, Keyword dashboard
v8 Major - Native Ad Blocker, Channel Manager, Tracker blocking, Annotations

Hey Product Hunt community!
I'm Dipto, the creator of Clify. Along with our amazing community of contributors, we've been working on this for the past year, and we're so excited to finally launch on Product Hunt!
The problem we're solving:
Common Questions
Q: Why manual install?
A: Great question! YouTube has strict policies on content blockers. Manual install lets us stay 100% transparent and avoid any risk of being taken down. Plus, it's actually super easy - just 2 minutes!
Q: How does multi-language blocking work?
A: We use Unicode normalization and language-agnostic pattern matching. So when you type "movie| | | ", Clify blocks content in English, Arabic, Hindi, and Bengali simultaneously. Magic!
Q: Is it really free forever?
A: YES! No premium tiers, no subscriptions, no tracking. We believe digital wellness shouldn't be a luxury. If you want to support us, star on GitHub or contribute translations!
How I Built Clify in 30 Days
A lot of people are asking how I built Clify. Here's the honest story:
Day 1-3: I was frustrated with YouTube Shorts. Opened VS Code, wrote 50 lines of JavaScript that hid Shorts on my browser. It worked. Barely.
Day 4-10: Shared with 5 friends. They wanted keyword blocking. Added it in a weekend.
Day 11-15: Friends shared with friends. Now 50 people using it. They wanted multi-language support. I panicked. Then built it.
