Every Pro feature, free for a week - an email, not a card
Hey Product Hunt 👋 quick pricing update, and the reasoning behind it, because I think the reasoning is the interesting part.
Clear Cart's free tier is deliberately the entire junk filter. Pro ($13/year) is the tuning layer — strictness presets, personal allow/blocklists, hide-sponsored, trust flags on product pages, local price history, best-value badges. Which means the honest question isn't "do you want the good version?" — it's "are you a tuner?" And nobody knows that until they've tried the knobs.
So: every Pro feature is now free for 7 days. No card. No auto-charge. Just an email.
Why it's built the way it is:
A week, not a weekend. Clear Cart is a tool you meet a few times a week, whenever you happen to shop. A 3-day trial quietly assumes you shop daily; a 7-day trial guarantees the trial actually overlaps your real shopping. If you search for earbuds on Tuesday and bed sheets on Sunday, both happen inside the window.
No card means no trap. When the week ends, Pro locks, the free filter keeps working, and subscribing is a decision — not a forgotten cancellation. I refuse to make money from people's calendar mistakes.
Expiry runs on your machine. Clear Cart is zero-telemetry — no server of mine, no analytics, and the only network request it ever makes is the license check. The trial deadline is computed locally from a timestamp, with a test asserting it can't extend itself even if the license server is unreachable the entire week.
One price, no asterisks. While doing this I also deleted every legacy-pricing footnote from the site and listing. It's $13/year, with a week to decide if the tuning is worth it to you. That's the entire pricing page.
If you try it, I'd love to know which Pro toggle actually changed your results — my bet is the strictness slider, but the personal blocklist has a devoted following.
