I built Chanimate after almost throwing my kids’ drawings away

A few weeks ago, around 9 PM, I was doing the usual parent cleanup, throwing away piles of my kids’ drawings.

Standing over the recycling bin, it hit me:

Photos aren’t enough. Scans aren’t enough. These drawings deserved more.

By 2 AM that night, I had a rough prototype that turned a drawing into an animation.

When I showed it to my kids, my daughter shouted:

“PAPA! MY PRINCESS IS DANCING!”

That reaction became the whole point.

Chanimate lets parents turn kids’ drawings into artwork, short animations, and even narrated storybooks without ads, feeds, or anything designed to hook kids.

Before launch, I’d genuinely love feedback:

  • Does this idea resonate with you?

  • As a parent, what would make you hesitate?

  • Is there a feature you’d expect but don’t see?

Happy to answer anything.

Best regards,

Alex
