CH16 - Maritime safety app 350+ rescue centres, MAYDAY, MOB

by
CH16 is a free maritime safety app built with rescue coordinators and mariners. At sea, knowing who to call and how to do it can save a life. CH16 solves that. What it does: - 350+ MRCC and JRCC contacts worldwide - Interactive SRR map with real-time zone detection - MAYDAY and PAN PAN generator — IMO/GMDSS compliant, with audio - Man Overboard mode with GPS tracking and DMD bearing - Passage Plan: declare your route, auto-notify rescue centres in their language Android coming this month.

Hey Product Hunt 👋 I'm Arthur, co-founder of Global SAR Hub. Before starting this company I worked as a maritime rescue coordinator at CROSS (the French maritime rescue centre) and as a navigator in the French Navy. My co-founder Tanguy is still an active SAR coordinator in the English Channel. We built CH16 because the problem is simple and frustrating: if you have an emergency at sea, you need to know which rescue centre covers your position, what their contact details are, and how to format a proper distress call. That information exists — it's just scattered across PDFs, outdated websites, and paper charts that nobody has on their phone. CH16 puts all of it in one place, in 6 languages, offline. The Passage Plan feature is the one I'm most proud of. You enter your route before departure, and the app identifies every rescue region you'll cross and notifies the relevant centres automatically — in their own language. It's the kind of thing that can make a real difference if something goes wrong offshore and no one knows where you are. Happy to answer any questions about how it works, the tech behind it, or maritime SAR in general. App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/ch16/... Android is coming within days.
