Hi Product Hunt! 👋
I'm Akshay, founder of Burnshot. Eight months ago I posted here with a simple self-destructing image tool. Today I'm back with something much bigger.
The insight that changed everything: I can't stop a determined leaker. No web app can. But I can make leaking pointless for the 99% of cases where you trust the recipient but don't trust the infrastructure — their inbox, their cloud backup, their corporate servers.
🔐 How the zero-knowledge part actually works: Files encrypt in your browser before upload using AES-256-GCM. The decryption key lives in the URL hash (#key). Browsers never send URL hashes to servers by design. So our database contains only encrypted binary — we physically cannot read your files, even if compelled.
🏢 What's new — Burnshot Enterprise: For law firms, wealth managers, investment bankers, and professional services firms that handle sensitive client documents daily.
→ Your own branded workspace: secure.yourfirm.com → Dedicated isolated database — not multi-tenant → Full audit trail: who uploaded, who opened, exact timestamps → Team management: invite associates, set roles, remove access → Scheduled destruction: expire at a specific date and time (not just a duration) → Visible watermark on every opened document → 150MB payloads, 10 files, 120-day expiry → 24-hour setup. $149/month flat.
📊 Traction that motivated this: 1,000+ monthly visitors and 500+ files shared per month — all organic, all free tier. The volume of professional use cases I saw convinced me enterprise was needed.
🎁 Founding member offer: First 10 firms: $99/month locked forever. I'm doing every onboarding personally.
Try the free tier right now — upload any file and send a self-destructing link. No account needed.
Happy to answer any questions about the zero-knowledge architecture, threat model, or the enterprise product. I'll be here all day.

Really appreciate how you kept the core sharing flow zero-knowledge without piling on extra steps. The forensic watermarking on the enterprise tier is a smart move for legal clients who actually need to trace leaks.

@abdurrahmaqs5j Really appreciate that! We believe the best security features are the ones users don't have to think about. The goal was to make secure sharing feel effortless while giving organizations the controls they need when handling sensitive documents.

Love that the keys stay client-side the whole time. Tested sending a confidential contract draft to a colleague and the self-destruct plus watermark trail feels genuinely built for legal work, not just bolted on.

@oktaycabbairwt Thanks for giving it a real test drive! We spent a lot of time making sure the security model wasn't just technically sound, but genuinely useful for teams handling sensitive documents. Glad that came across.
