Hello Product Hunt! I’m Felix and I’ve spent the last few months building Buildpad together with my brother @davidheikka. We launched our MVP and got 100 users in the first two weeks and now we’re releasing the full version with many new improvements from all the feedback we got. - Have you launched multiple failed projects? Then Buildpad might be for you. Buildpad is a platform that gives you a better way to build your products by following a structured path that works. You will do everything properly from the beginning this time, starting off with idea validation to make sure it’s worth spending your time on the idea. You'll get help from AI + special tools along the way, and you'll always get actionable next steps so you can keep making progress. Some features include: 🛠️ MVP path: organize the building of your MVP by using multiple chats with different goals in each one. The AI learns about your project as you build, keeps the context between chats, and provides advice based on it. 🔍 Reddit search: search through millions of discussions on reddit to come up with new ideas, validate your idea, and conduct market research. AI will help you analyze all the data and give you the conclusions from it. 👨 User persona: Get to know exactly who your users are and where you can find them by generating a user persona. Marketing is easier when you have a clear picture of who you’re targeting. - We want you to experience how much easier everything becomes—from marketing to gathering feedback and acquiring paying users—when you’re building a product that people actually want.

@davidheikka @owenfar Thanks a lot for the kind words, Owen! We really appreciate it a lot as we've spent many hours on Buildpad to get it right!

@davidheikka @felixheikka now this will accelerate building new things to next level. I see the time to market is shrinking day by day. From 3months of ideation + 12 months of building + 12 months of gaining initial reactions to 1week of ideation (with AI tools and Buildpad) + 4-8 weeks of building with Cursor + 2 months of initial traction. We are in the new world already
David Heikka
@felixheikka @prad_vv Yes we're moving faster and faster. It's our hope that Buildpad will lead to a lot of new successful projects done by solo founders and smaller teams!
David Heikka
@felixheikka @onitro Thank you, Oleh! Yes it will adapt to your project's goals and preferences. We have specific phases for planning MVP development and the release so by completing those the AI will get a lot of context for the subsequent phases.

@davidheikka @felixheikka Amazing product guys I have started using it to create my own product, and its really helping me a lot. Its just like a cofounder for my startup
Janice
@felixheikka The Buildpad concept is intriguing! The idea of having a structured process to follow for product development, along with AI assistance, seems very helpful. I have a quick question: How does Buildpad handle the iterative nature of product development? Can the platform adapt as you gather feedback and make changes to your product?
David Heikka
@felixheikka @janicelewis00 Our goal is to get you from idea to launching a MVP and getting your first few customers. After that we have a post-launch phase that is focused on setting up processes for iterating on product based on feedback. But that's where the Buildpad phases end. It's possible that we'll expand on support for mid-late stage businesses but for now we'll continue to focus on delivering the best experience we can for new products.
Janice
@davidheikka Thank you for the clarification, David! It’s great to hear that Buildpad focuses on getting products from idea to MVP and beyond. The post-launch support for setting up processes based on feedback sounds very useful. I’ll keep an eye out if you decide to expand into mid-late stage support in the future. Best of luck as you continue refining Buildpad!
Sophia Gartner
It would be awesome to see integrations with popular project management tools to streamline the workflow even further.
David Heikka
@sophia_gartner Noting that down!

Cool product, i think your landing page design is clean! i noticed on: `Identify a need -- what to expect` it says "paint point" which is probably meant to be "pain point" congrats on shipping!
David Heikka
@catt_marroll Thank you! And good catch—fixed it now.
Felix Heikka
@catt_marroll Thank you, Matt!
James Wilson
Sounds interesting, @felixheikka! The structured approach of Buildpad really stands out, especially the MVP path feature. I'm curious, though—how does the AI adapt as projects evolve? Do you have any specific metrics or KPIs that show how it impacts user retention or product success? Also, what kind of feedback did you get from your first 100 users that led to improvements in the full version? It would be great to understand how the iterations shaped the final product. Looking forward to trying it out!
David Heikka
@felixheikka @james_wilson_ 1. The AI "learns" about your project from every interaction you have with it. This means the AI gets more context and is able to provide even better advice the more you build. Think about an intelligent startup advisor that learns more and more about your project—the advisor's advice becomes better and better. 2. We're still in the early days of Buildpad so all we have so far is success stories from users that were struggling to build products and get customers but now launched their first successful business with the help of Buildpad. We'll be looking into how we can get a better metric for tracking user success. 3. During the beta we got a ton of positive feedback, specifically around how the AI felt much smarter than standard LLMs and how the structure for building your project was helpful. That was something we wanted to keep and make even better. We also got criticism about information overload and users feeling uncertainty about what to do next. These were the main points we wanted to tackle in the full release. We have worked a lot on structuring information better and making it super clear what the user should be doing next.
Nikola Djordjevic
Congrats, @felixheikka , on the launch of Buildpad! It’s clear that you've put a lot of thought into addressing the challenges of building a product from scratch. The structured approach, especially with the MVP path, sounds like a real help for makers trying to stay on track. Looking forward to seeing how this platform evolves as more users come on board. Best of luck with everything!
David Heikka
@felixheikka @djordjevic_nikola Thank you. We'll share the journey of Buildpad over on X.
Felix Heikka
@djordjevic_nikola Thank you, Nikola! We're very excited for the future of Buildpad!
Germán Merlo
Hey Felix! Loved the idea of building a structured process for this. I'm sure many makers will avoid common mistakes in their first product because of you. Wish you all the best here! Congrats
Felix Heikka
@german_merlo1 Hey, Germán! Your kind words mean a lot! Helping builders avoid common mistakes in the early stage is very much something we're going for here with Buildpad!
Roman Tikhonov
I really like the way Buildpad guides founders through all essential steps that are required to launch a successful product. It feels like interacting with a wise mentor who knows exactly what is the next step and can assist with tasks like Reddit search. One thing that I'd work on is to make sure that the LLM responses are not overly positive. Otherwise, it'd be hard to trust an advisor that always tells what I want to hear.
David Heikka
@rtikhonov Thank you for the support, Roman! You're right that making sure the AI is not overly positive is important. We've made some adjustments to this coming from the beta and it should be much better now.
Felix Heikka
@rtikhonov Thanks a lot for your continued support, Roman! We really appreciate it!
Greffin Dony
I’ve tried similar tools, but this structured approach is really refreshing.
David Heikka
@greffin_dony That's great to hear, Greffin!
Felix Heikka
@greffin_dony We hope other hunters get to experience it as well!
Keagan Roos
I think I like it! I'm just curious about one thing. Are founder's ideas protected by the app? Not shared with any third parties etc.
David Heikka
@keagan_roos There's no getting around sharing some data with the LLM providers (Anthropic and OpenAI) but I think most people have a lot of trust for them at this point. Other than that your sensitive business data is not read by anyone and is encrypted.
Astried Herera
wow, i think this app really helps anyone to build their product. i really appreciate this. congratulations on the launch🥳
David Heikka
@beautyrr_ Thank you for the kind words, Astried!
Ahmad Kaiss
Definitely gonna use this for my next startup

Workflow looks good. The logo and branding is pretty minimal, but it works. 😄
David Heikka
@derkolstad Thanks :D We're no designers so keeping logo and branding minimal seems like a good move for now.
