What inspired this: I kept seeing the same thing with Australian sole traders, tradies and NDIS providers — brilliant at their actual work, but drowning in quotes, invoices and chasing payments. Their options were either a heavy accounting suite like Xero/MYOB (overkill, steep learning curve) or a generic invoice app that doesn't understand how an Aussie small business actually runs — GST, ABN, NDIS, state timezones, all of it. The problem I wanted to solve: get a one- or two-person business from "I did the job" to "I got paid" with as little friction as possible. So in BookQuo you create a professional quote, turn it into an invoice with GST handled correctly, and your customer pays by card or Apple Pay straight from the invoice — no more waiting on bank transfers. Bookings and SMS reminders are built in, and NDIS-ready templates come out of the box. How it evolved: I started thinking it was "just an invoicing tool," but every conversation pushed it toward the whole get-paid loop. The two decisions I'm most sure about now: one flat price with no cut taken from your bookings or payments, and being unapologetically built for Australia rather than a US tool with a GST checkbox bolted on.
