Congrats on launching v1.0! The app looks clean. I get the privacy/local-first angle. Beyond that, how does Bookov differ from existing readers/library managers? From the page I read โ€œfind & addโ€ (metadata) + โ€œimport to read,โ€ so the core USP seems to be ownership + open export?

Kirill Oleinichenko

@sidraarifaliย hi Sidra! Thank you for your support! And thank you for your question!

Yes, you are right - the main focus is ownership. I have about 1,500 e-books in my library, and I'm frustrated by the fact that they're all locked in the app I chose 15 years ago. Thank God that the company still exists. But if she goes broke or blocks me, I'll lose the library. I want to create a platform where a personal library (metadata, files, notes, citations, collections) belongs to a person. And where a person can use it the way he wants it. Export, import, process manually or using AI, synchronize with personal knowledge bases. We are at the very beginning of the journey, but this is the vision.

Sidra Arif

@kirillgreenย Thanks for the explanation. I'd honestly never thought about what happens if my current collection disappears. Bookov is tackling a problem most of us wonโ€™t notice until itโ€™s too late, and that vision really resonates. Iโ€™m excited to give it a try!

@sidraarifaliย feel free to give us your honest feedback!

Congrats on launching! Seems like a great app!

Love how Bookov lets you actually *own* your reading library for onceโ€”so smart, tired of losing track of my books on other apps tbh. Super cool idea!

Mu Joe

Love that Bookov lets you actually own your library, not just borrow itโ€”so smart, fr. Been wanting this for ages, ngl!
