I realized lifetime pricing was asking for too much trust upfront
When I launched Bookmash, I kept the pricing simple: one payment, lifetime access.
I liked the simplicity of it. No subscriptions, no plans to compare, no recurring charge.
But there was a problem.
For someone discovering Bookmash for the first time, paying for lifetime access also meant making the biggest possible commitment before really knowing if the product would become part of their workflow.
So I changed the pricing.
Bookmash now has three ways to pay:
€2.90/month
€24.90/year
€44.90 lifetime
The product is exactly the same on every plan. Same features, same updates. The only thing you choose is how you want to pay.
I also redesigned the pricing section around that idea instead of presenting the three options as different product tiers.
I'm curious how other makers think about this: did you start with lifetime pricing and eventually add subscriptions, or go the other way around?

@ir3ne - not directly related to this thread, but are you planning on including Safari? I've been looking for a solution that keeps my bookmarks in both Chrome and safari in-sync, but so far not found anything that works well.
@codeandsea It's a point I'm investigating, I'd like to release this new features including Safari in the next month. I'm checking the differences between how Safari manages the tree compared to Chrome. I'll keep you updated :)
When you talk about "a solution that keeps my bookmarks in both Chrome and safari in-sync" do you mean to have a unique source of both? Asking since Bookmash is profile and browser scoped.
@ir3ne - yes ideally but I understand these limitations.
@codeandsea and your goal would be to have them all visible in both?
