Wait. You're telling me created an app, and it's not WUPHF.com?!?
Damn it you got there before me
introduced me to ~6 months ago when he was visiting SF and we met nearby Product Hunt HQ to chat about his new project. I love how general the app is, giving room for creativity but still constrained to the popular and well understood list format. They have some awesome publications like The Onion, Wired, NYT, and others on board (although missing listicle leader, Buzzfeed! cc ). Here’s my first list of . P.S. is doing a LIVE Chat in a few weeks.
Well done. I'm curious why you are so passionate about lists. What moved you to build this app and community?
I just love 'em. I'm always asking people for lists of favorite restaurants in certain cities, or documentaries on Netflix that are good, and originally wanted a place where people could request and share those types of lists with friends. There's still a lot of that. But we've also discovered what I think we all knew deep down - that lists are addictive, because they're the way our brains naturally order things anyway. It enables substance way easier than other forms of writing because it is often the connective tissue that gets in the way
Expandable content. Existing interesting network. Low friction. Consumable bits of information. Great work . You should be proud.
Seriously! BJ and co. really nailed a lot of the trickier (and non-obvious) parts of launching an app. Really impressed.
Reminds me of Pocket, in that it lets me create my own personal "library" and offload things from my memory to something that's effortless to 'remember' and will last forever. Added to my collection :)
Looks awesome. - What would be your "taxonomy of lists" if you were to break them into categories? Todo Lists, Listicals, Idea lists, etc. - I just added this to my Collection (or is it a list) of List-Making Apps -
this is for anything and everything - we wanted it to be the simplest form possible to enable creativity. That said, expressive lists is the center of everything so far. For some people, that's recommendations; for many others, it's lists of thoughts, memories, photos. Thanks for asking
Cool! Currently is there a way to make a list that others can contribute to/change? Do you have plans to do that?
if you want to create personal and collaborative favorites lists / recommendations then check out
I'm not 100% sure yet what this app does, but i love the iconography!
you beat me!!!
This is really awesome. Well done
Thanks Anton!
We set up a account on and made 3 book collections to start! Did it all from iPhone, took about 10min (images and all) was super intuitive to use. Really impressed with how well the app is designed. You should also check out & 's episode that's all about the app. 1) 's Favorite Books: 2) Product Design Books Not About Product Design, by 3) Books to Help You Understand Business, by Elman And follow on for more collection of books and tech products to come :)
less about the app, but I really enjoyed 's episode of the Tim Ferriss podcast:
