At Synonym we are thrilled to officially release Bitkit, our flagship product designed to empower users with true financial sovereignty. Bitkit is a self-custodial Bitcoin wallet leveraging the Lightning Network for instant payments without relying on third-party custodians. Your private keys never leave your device, ensuring that only you have access to your funds. We built Bitkit on open-source principles, prioritizing transparency and community involvement. During our beta phase, many users and developers contributed by flagging issues, helping us make Bitkit more stable and secure. Self-custody is the cornerstone of our philosophy because controlling your own money shouldn't be optional. It's a fundamental right. Bitkit puts you in charge, minimizing risks like exchange hacks and custodian malpractices and enabling permissionless transactions. Looking forward to your feedback, and let's keep pushing Bitcoin payments forward together.
Congrats on the launch of Bitkit! 🎉 The emphasis on financial sovereignty and self-custody aligns perfectly with Bitcoin's core principles. I appreciate the focus on user privacy and the non-reliance on third-party custodians. I’m curious, how does Bitkit handle transaction speed and fees compared to other Lightning Network wallets? And are there any upcoming features or integrations planned to further enhance the user experience?
I think this product is a must have for crypto
Thanks :)
Fees are the same for everyone, LN fees are super low. Sometimes les than a cent.
Hey Jacobo, love the idea of Bitkit! Super interested in the self-custody feature. Quick question though - does the Lightning Network integration mean I can make payments instantly with no fees? Keep up the great work!
Thanks Rob. Yeah, instant payments with "minimal fees", usually around 0.0001% to 0.001% of the transaction amount.
Congrats on the launch, ! Bitkit's focus on self-custody and leveraging the Lightning Network is a huge step forward for Bitcoin users. How does Bitkit handle transaction fees, especially for microtransactions? Looking forward to exploring its features!
Fees are all the same for everyone on the Lightning Network. So basically near zero % fees.
This actually looks like a very nice Bitcoin Wallet compared to the rest. So cool that you. support Lightning and it is self-custodial
That is the way.
Congratulations on the launch! The combination of self-custody and Lightning Network support is fantastic. Does Bitkit offer any unique features for integrating with other financial tools or services?
Like what services Ricki?
Great to see Bitkit officially launched, ! The emphasis on self-custody and financial sovereignty really resonates with the community. Leveraging the Lightning Network for seamless transactions is a game-changer, and it’s refreshing to see a focus on transparency and open-source development. I appreciate the beta phase contributions from users and developers, which makes it clear that Bitkit is built with community input in mind. This is definitely a step towards a more secure and independent Bitcoin experience. Can’t wait to explore all the features!
Yes :)
Congrats on the launch! Does Bitkit offer any unique features for managing both Bitcoin and Lightning transactions within the same app? How does it ensure the security of users' funds?
Hi. Yup, your funds are in your control 100%, since you get the keys right after creating the wallet. We also have the feature to move money back-and-forth from on-chain (savings) to Lightning (spending) super easy + coin control.
