BitePad - Minimalist voice calorie tracker

BitePad is intentionally minimal. Instead of packing in bloated features, we focus on one thing: making calorie tracking fast and effortless. Simply speak or type what you ate, and BitePad turns it into a meal log in seconds. Unlike AI photo logging, which often misidentifies foods and requires manual corrections, BitePad lets you review the estimated calories and macros, make any quick edits if needed, and save your meal. Simple by design, built for everyday use.

๐Ÿ‘‹ Hi everyone! I'm Varun, the maker of BitePad. I built BitePad because I was getting frustrated with calorie tracking apps. Over time they became packed with features I rarely used, and AI photo logging often guessed my meals incorrectly, which meant I still had to edit everything manually. So I tried a different approach: make calorie tracking intentionally simple. With BitePad, you just speak or type what you ate. The app estimates calories and macros, lets you quickly review or edit the results, and logs your meal in seconds. No clutter, no endless food database searches, and no trying to figure out what an AI thought was on your plate. This is an early version, and I'd genuinely love your feedback. What works well? What feels missing? Your thoughts will directly shape where BitePad goes next. Thanks for checking it out! ๐Ÿ™Œ
Love the minimalist approach! How does BitePad handle homemade meals or mixed dishes?

ย  Great question! BitePadโ€™s My Foods feature makes it easy to save homemade meals and mixed dishes, including their ingredients and portions, so you can quickly log them again. Our user research found this was one of the most requested features, so we made sure to include it in the app.

Interesting concept! How accurate are the calorie and macro estimates for voice inputs?

ย Great question! One of the biggest limitations of photo-based food logging is accurately identifying ingredients, toppings, and especially portion sizes. Voice logging helps solve this by letting you quickly describe exactly what you ate and how much.

BitePad aims to keep logging just as fast while providing more reliable estimates than photo-only systems. In our testing, calorie and macro estimates have been approximately 90โ€“95% accurate in most cases.
