Why I built Beacon — and what AEO actually means

Building Beacon because I kept seeing SEO tools that had no idea AI search engines existed.

AEO — Answer Engine Optimization - is optimizing your content to be cited by AI engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews. Traditional SEO gets you on page 1. AEO gets you quoted as the answer.

The signals are different. AI engines care about entity clarity, atomic fact density, structured data, and direct answer formatting. A page can have perfect Lighthouse scores and still never get cited by an AI engine.

Beacon scores both simultaneously so you're not optimizing for one at the expense of the other. Happy to answer questions about how the scoring works.
