Great tool, right now we have evaluating manually all our prompts which is a bit painful. When do you think it become really relevant ? (after how many prompts to iterate on / with how many users to collect feedback from / else ?)

@ben_miege thanks Ben, great questions. Evaluation is a complex skills, some product leaders say it is the most important skill an AI PM should be learning.
Evaluation depends largely on the type of features you are building, since you don't assess an AI prompt the say way for a classification job (pretty determined output) vs a generation one (more qualitative). Involving users or domain experts is also a necessary way to ensure qualitative annotations help you improve.

We've tested Basalt @Collective.work and we love it ! It was perfect for iterations and grading of our prompts exactly the tool we needed for an efficient tech/product collaboration.
The new LLM as a judge feature is a banger btw ! Clearly fan of a product we did not see much, compared to the thousands of tracing products that just monitor performance but don't allow you to iterate well on your prompts, the core of the problem IMO.
Keep it up Basalt, was proud to be a tester and I saw the product evolve thoughout the past months, you're going too fast for me to keep up, which is how a company should be built 🔥
