Co-founder here! If you have questions feel free to throw them down. PS. Marcus, thanks for the love!
The pocket size is very nice. It would be great if you'd ship a pencil that also fits in a pocket.
Thanks for the good words. I like the idea!
Hey Joey, curious to learn more about how you've captured and used customer feedback to create your notebooks.
Get yourself a Kaweco Lilliput. Fits in a trouser pocket.
How's it compare to a Field Note?
That's what I want to know as well. I'm an avid Field Notes user. Field Notes the company definitely has a distinct character, which along with the fine craftsmanship, make it a great product. I can see, for example, that Baron Fig uses stitching for binding versus staples in Field Notes. Anything else you can add about durability and company ethos ?
Good Q! I've been carrying around a prototype, and purposefully beating it up—and it's held together fine. It's quite a durable little notebook, especially being sewn as opposed to stapled (which creates two weak points, one around each staple). Our mission is: "To champion thinkers in their journey to create and inspire the world." We aim to make awesome products that help makers make cool things. Part of that is enacted via the Projects we create/commission, and part is via sharing what the community is making.
I use a similar size Moleskin, I have about 5 of them. Might get some of these and put them in rotation. :)
Awesome. In my extremely biased opinion, that sounds like a great idea. ;)
I've enjoyed my Baron Fig for the past 6 months or so and receive lots of compliments on the textured grey cover. These guys are in-tune with the needs of their customers. Excited to try a more compact version.
Chase, thank you—glad you're enjoying the Confidant. Totally appreciate the good words.
Love the Fig. Have their other notebook size. Fantastic.
Hunter, glad you're enjoying it!
I love my Baron Fig. I used it everyday this summer. It has a lot of torn out pages, ripped edges and coffee stains. Excited to check out this new iteration.
Thanks, Kyle—glad you've enjoyed using it! The more worn-in my Confidant gets, the more I love it. Hope you like the Apprentice.
Just realized we're the only fully analog product today (as of writing this). Thanks for the love, all!
Big fan of the Confidant I have, and I think the Apprentice is a great move (as my favorite moleskins are this size). Love it , excited to try it out.
Thanks Jake—looking forward to your thoughts after using it!
I also love my Baron Fig Confidant! Use it daily!
Glad to hear it! Thanks, Brad!
huge huge fan of Baron Fig. Carrying one every day now to all meetings.
Dave, glad to hear it. Always looking to improve, too!
