We've tried every onboarding tactic in the book. Customers still don't fully adopt what we built.

At my last company, an AI agents platform for recruitment, we tried almost everything to get customers to actually use what we shipped. Drip email sequences. PDF guides nobody opened. Webinars with 4 attendees. In-app product tours. Loom videos sent one by one. CS check-in calls booked weeks out. A Slack channel "for questions." A knowledge base we kept updating that nobody read.

Each one helped a little. None of them actually closed the gap. Customers ended up using maybe 30% of what we built, not because the rest was bad, but because none of these tactics met them in the exact moment they were stuck, inside their own workflow, doing their own task.

I kept circling back to the same conclusion: this isn't a content problem or a tactics problem. We threw enough tactics at it to know that. It's a "nobody is actually there with the customer when they need it" problem.

Genuinely curious what this community has tried:

- What's the most effort you've put into an onboarding/adoption tactic that barely moved the needle?

- Has anything actually worked for you, even partially? What made it different?

- Do you think this gets solved with better content and more tactics, or does it need something structurally different?

That exact problem is why I've spent the last stretch building something around it. Launching September 30. Would love to hear your worst onboarding war stories before then.
