Hey! Derrick here, one of the founders behind Arlo Alarm. @declangessel (the other founder) and I are two students at UC Berkeley. The idea behind Arlo Alarm is simple. We learn a little bit about you: your name, upcoming calendar events, any special requests you might have, etc., and use GPT to generate a personalized wake up message for you. Then, we use one of our ultra-realistic voice clones to convert that text to speech that sounds exactly like celebrities/characters that you know and love! Pretty much, you can think of it as a combination of a motivational speaker to get you out of bed and a personal assistant to get your day started. Funny enough, this is actually our second alarm app! Our first ever app was YouUp, which let friends wake each other up with audio messages. We went TikTok viral and got some great traction (#12 lifestyle top charts), and ended up learning a bunch about how people like getting woken up. Specifically, we realized that people loved waking up to other peoples' voices. However, for YouUp, people weren't very inclined to record for others - so for Arlo, everything is done for you. Here's a sample of all of the voices that are currently available in Arlo. The yellow voices require a pro subscription: https://drive.google.com/file/d/... We currently have Custom Prompt (free), Music (free), Calendar (pro), and Weather (pro) integrations, but we're working on News (pro), Smart Home (pro), Email (pro), and much more. Our end goal is to make this as close to J.A.R.V.I.S. as possible. Most features are available for free. For this week only, we're giving a $5 discount for annual Pro subscriptions (comes out to just under $3 a month), which gives you access to all of our ultra-realistic voices, calendar & weather, and many more integrations/voices in the near future. You can use this link (promo code automatically applied): https://apps.apple.com/redeem?ct... Or you can enter the PRODUCTHUNT promo code after downloading: https://tryarlo.com We welcome any and all feedback, and let us know if you have any voice / integration suggestions.

This is a fun idea. What about other voices? Scarlett Johansson's voice would be pretty neat. :)

Just wondering if there is an alarm clock that can start playing a podcast or spotify playlist
Declan Gessel
@alejandro_lengua Spotify/Apple Music integration is on our to do list!
Partha Mandayam
@alejandro_lengua Yes, there are alarm clocks available that can start playing a podcast or a Spotify playlist as your alarm sound. Many modern alarm clock systems are equipped with Bluetooth or Wi-Fi connectivity, allowing you to connect your smartphone or other devices to play audio. Here are a few options you can explore: Amazon Echo Dot or Google Nest Hub: These smart speakers with built-in voice assistants (Alexa or Google Assistant) can set alarms and play podcasts or Spotify playlists upon waking up. Simply set up your preferred podcast or Spotify as the alarm sound through the device's settings. iHome iBT29BC: This alarm clock features Bluetooth connectivity, allowing you to wirelessly stream audio from your smartphone or tablet. You can pair it with your device and play a podcast or a Spotify playlist as your alarm. Philips AJT3300/37: This alarm clock has a built-in Bluetooth receiver, enabling you to connect your smartphone and stream audio. You can set a podcast or Spotify playlist as your alarm sound by playing it on your phone. Sonos One: Although primarily known as a wireless speaker, the Sonos One can also be used as an alarm clock with the help of voice assistants like Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. You can set alarms and instruct it to play a specific podcast or Spotify playlist. Remember to check the specific features and compatibility of each device to ensure it meets your requirements before making a purchase.
