Arc Browser by "The Browser Company" - Revolutionary, user-centric browser with innovative features

by
We’re imagining a browser that can think as quickly as we do, take work off of our plates, and pull our creativity forward. A browser equipped for the way we use the internet in 2022, and foundational for how we hope to use it in the future.

Looks interesting, I believe it uses chromium under the hood. Does the list (workspace tabs) consume RAM? I would love to see this as just a list. I (as many engineers I know) have many open tabs that basically consume all RAM, and suspending them doesn't help much. I would rather have the list of the tabs and load the website again than have no RAM or no tabs.

@kura955 It indeed uses chromium. I'm not sure about the consumption of RAM (I'm not an engineer and I also rarely have many tabs open at the same time). I've tested some scenarios and my observation so far was, that when ARC starts up and the lists haven't been clicked on, they also don't consume any RAM. But that's due to the fact, that the sites have not loaded yet. When you click on the items of the list, the site loads and stays idle in the background. Since it's a very early product and largely built on top of chromium, I'd guess that RAM management is not much different from what you already know in Chrome or Chromium. If a chance arises to recommend other test users, I can offer you that I would provide them with your details so that you can test that yourself.
