ECG for Apple Watch - ECG app and irregular heart rhythm notification

Available today as part of a free update to watchOS 5.1.2, the ECG app and irregular heart rhythm notification feature will help users identify signs of AFib, the most common form of irregular rhythm. When left untreated, AFib is one of the leading conditions that can result in stroke, the second most common cause of death around the world.

Why is the ECG app available only in the US? It is the biggest selling point for me to upgrade or get one for my parents, I understand that these features are FDA approved and not by the authorities in EU, but it should be at least opt-in "i know my country did not approve this clinically and I will not hold apple liable for any problems with this tech until it is approved". Not like they have to work with the hospitals to launch this feature, like they had to with apple pay (I live in Czechia, we still don't have apple pay as of today...).

@david_reinberger In some countries you simply cannot wave your right to sue as an individual. A company might, not a person. Second, you agreeing to that does not make it legal. Medical products have to approved. Even just to prevent snake oil scams (that somehow still happen though)
