Hi Product Hunt, Kevin from Amplenote here. @williambharding built Amplenote because notes and todos are better together. It was built because the legacy note taking apps struggle with sync and security, and those problems have been exacerbated by the rise of mobile. It was built because consistent use of todo lists is essential to pursuing goals. Especially when it comes to the long-term, it's fun to set and then reach one's goals. We want Amplenote to be your favorite note taking app, even if you've tried many, as we have. We want it to be the elusive todo list app that you can stick to using. Amplenote is built foremost for power users: people whose livelihood depends on staying organized and communicating richly. By the time Evernote launched Work Chat and Context, it was readily apparent that note taking didn't need "more features." Note takers need the smallest number of features that can support the broadest variety of uses. Slack is a pretty good role model in this regard. If you are interested, we invite you to check out the features that we believe matter the most to productivity, security and achieving goals.

@williambharding @kevinandrews Pro Subscription to Amplenote Activated. We spent a good amount of time researching AmpleNote, we also see that AmpleNote for us will sit well with our pro subscription to EverNote. We do see for us as AmpleNote will be our realtime, active note app with to do action items. We are in Tech so AmpleNote will also be used for Tech Notes, and KB creation - using the easy public share links will be a great resource. The footnotes are a welcome feature, the lock and archive features are on point, the vault feature for the entire note is a welcome option. BIG for us is the Nested Tags and ease of creation. Also, the user interface is intuitive, robust and well thought out. In addition, we are a big-time Grammarly user of their paid service which works perfectly with Amplenote. What sealed the deal is the development team, mission statement and back story. We think of this as teaming with the makers and shakers not just an investment in apps, but we invest in the company and developers behind the apps we use. Dave / ParagonHost.net

This app is a great experience. I have just switched to Amplenote after having used Roam for two whole months at the price point of 15 dollars. Now I am on the 6 dollar plan at Amplenote. It is a bit strange/unfortunate why there is this few reviews out there. Anyway, I think Amplenote has now about 70% of Roam's functionality, but I prefer how Amplenote's UI works (It doesn't have the graph for example. I'm an entrepreneur and digital marketer and have never ever used it anyway. I suppose it is more for real researchers.)

Bill liked your comparison vs Amazing Marvin & TickTick, that was very helpful. Do you have a student discount? Great to see the thoughtful attention to little details & the psychology of to-dos + procrastination well understood in your product decisions

Looks different from the other note-taking apps. Simple and easy to use! You might want to consider posting on https://remote.tools as well :)

@williambharding / @kevinandrews Can this be used as a basic knowledge base of sorts? Is there nested folders for file notes? Reason I ask is I pay for confluence, but it is a bit too many features and a little clunky to me, so if this can be a robust folder styled note system, and and must for me is Search Ability, I see keywords, but searching the entire document posted vs just the title and such is a must have. Let us know may do the switch! PS. we still are a big time Evernote (paid) user, but we are looking at your solution for more of a KB with the noted task abilities. Thanks! / Dave (same person on LinkedIn)

@williambharding @kevinandrews We were able to start the free 14 day trial - albeit that since there is no forgot password option, we are now locked out. (forgot to add the site to our password manager) sent a request into support@amplenote.com - So tested the nested tags and see that will work nicely for us. Also we do a lot of just copy and paste, for tech notes and such, work very nice. And the last item was the search for which we tested and was pleased with the results. We hope to have a account password reset today if possible. Have a great day! - Dave Safley 10/02/2019

Need better options for serach results. For example, I would like to be able to find all tasks with 'xyz' in the description, and not just the files that have 'xyz' in them somewhere. I need fine-grained search results, like those of Typora. I love the model of collaborative editing and publishing. What about importing folders of markdown docs?

I have used dozens of software the last 30 years for my small one man business. From earlier crms , flowchart software, The brain, etc, etc. I have 5 on the go now, Evernote, notion, supernotes, obsidian, etc,. I also end up having the same problem. Too much mucking around, I would end up too disorganized lost, too much. I signed up for a 2-week trial, after 3 days i signed up for pro pack for the year. I am loving this. this software is so simple, yet it seems to work, I am in constant research in my business, The ease of doing notes and then the tasks they complete. I am already feeling less stressed. You somehow have done a brilliant job. it works.

This is a most amazing program. For someone like me with ADHD putting limits is a good way. There are some features I’d like but then the simplicity would be gone.
