Amazon loss leads on devices to sell content and music streaming in Amazon Prime is probably a strategy for engaging the mainstream consumer, a good part of the overall proposition but not something that carries inherent monetary value on its own so they don't necessarily need to beat Spotify at its own game but just to be "good enough", as this good piece on the Verge suggests ( http://www.theverge.com/2014/6/1... )
i don t manage to login to their iOS app with my amazon account. anyone has that issue too?

Nice scoop Jack. I think this is a good first step, the key for me is a good offline experience so I don't have to stream while running and I'm glad to see they provide. The UI is well done, music selections are good for an older rocker, but they don't have a lot of great playlists with rap/urban -- they probably need the deal with Universal Music to make that happen. I may end up dropping my Rhapsody account just Iike I did with Netflix because price/value is more important to me than selection.

Amazon Fire includes a year long access to Amazon Prime (that means ad-free on demand).
PS. It's currently #1 Music iOS app and #4 in the free ones in USA.
